Comment: good inventory of the value adds AI can provide Education with, a little overstated perhaps with student engagement — we have a lot of work to do in that area, the present state of the art disappoints. That being said, comments about improving student retention rates are spot on. Still, the ethical dimension isn’t properly explored (a fault of many initiatives); these systems are collecting very large amounts of highly detailed and deeply personal data. Data protection and retention are areas that need careful consideration.
