Comment: now this raises several important questions; IF we are going to condone the use of tools such as ChatGPT (and there are many, many more LLMs out there) where does the line begin and end for student disclosure? IF a student uses an LLM to create an outline, AND THEN engages largely traditional techniques to flesh this out into a formal submission, should they be penalised? I’d say no, we certainly don’t penalise students for using Excel to solve finance problems, in fact we encourage the use of tools such as spreadsheets as they improve studies, student engagement and, ultimately, employability.
